A symbol of technical progress for thousands of years, copper is an indispensable element in our daily lives. So it’s worth talking about copper and its versatile applications. Where? At the Wire 2014 in Düsseldorf, the international leading trade fair for wire, cable, manufacturing and processing. “Our customer Aurubis wanted to talk to decision makers at the Wire about the entire spectrum of copper applications”, Olivier Morlon, Managing Director of i.xpo explained. This provided the direction for the stand design.
i.xpo asserted itself with a powerful design which staged the theme of copper through a generous spatial gesture on a stand area of 150 square metres. In the centre of the stand, a ten-ton copper wire coil was placed, from which the stand literally appeared to unwind. This stylistic device created an exciting narrative architecture that included all the structural elements. With the contrasting colours of copper red, black and white, i.xpo set a strong tone in the trade fair hall. The Aurubis executives supported this concept, and their courage to opt for an unusual appearance was rewarded with great attention.
